You can participate in the plan if you are 23 years of age or older and are

1. an ordained or licensed minister, missionary or employee of the BGC national office and are employed at least 1,000 hours per year by a church, district or the BGC national office; or
2. a non-minister employee of a church or district conference or a school affiliated with a Baptist General Conference church who is employed at least 1,500 hours per year and who has been employed by the church or district conference for at least 6 months.

Participants may contribute to the Defined Contribution (Supplemental) Plan, whether or not your employer contributes to it.

Pastors who leave the BGC can continue participation in the BGC plan if,

• the church to which they are going has a similar statement of faith to that of the BGC; and
• the church is willing to participate on behalf of their pastor
